Plan Mode Improvements
Safer Toggling
Plan Mode won’t accidentally toggle while the agent is actively working on a task. TheShift+Tab shortcut is smart enough to detect when execution is in progress and prevents interruptions.
Cleaner Exit
Cancel Plan Mode cleanly withShift+Tab or /plan cancel. The exit flow no longer shows unnecessary prompts - it exits immediately and cleanly.
When you press Shift+Tab while in Plan Mode:
- If a plan is being designed: Exits Plan Mode immediately
- If a plan is under review: Cancels the current plan
- If execution has started: Toggle is disabled to prevent interruption
Tips
- Use for unfamiliar tasks: When you’re not sure what the agent will do, Plan Mode shows you the approach first
- Iterate on plans: Use “Refine” to adjust the plan rather than canceling and starting over
- Save complex plans: Plans can be saved and reloaded for recurring workflows
