Craft Agents connects to your Craft workspace through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), giving you natural language access to your documents, collections, and tasks.

What You Can Access

Documents

Search, read, and navigate your Craft documents:
> Find my documents about project planning
> Show me the contents of "Q4 Goals"
> What did I write about the marketing budget?
The agent can access document content, including nested pages and blocks within documents.

Daily Notes

Access your daily notes for journaling and time-based information:
> What's in today's daily note?
> Show me yesterday's notes
> Search my daily notes for mentions of "team meeting"

Collections

Work with Craft collections (structured databases):
> Show me my Expenses collection
> What items are in my Reading List?
> List all entries in the Projects collection

Tasks

View and manage tasks across your workspace:
> What tasks do I have due this week?
> Show me all incomplete tasks
> Find tasks related to the website redesign

What You Can Create and Modify

Adding Content

Create new documents and add content to existing ones:
> Create a new document called "Meeting Notes - Dec 11"
> Add a bullet point to my project plan: "Review designs with team"
> Insert a heading "Next Steps" in my Q4 Goals document

Updating Content

Modify existing blocks and documents:
> Update the status in my project tracker to "In Progress"
> Change the due date on that task to next Friday
> Edit the first paragraph to include the new metrics

Managing Collections

Add and update collection items:
> Add a new expense: $45 for lunch, category meals
> Update the status of "Website Redesign" to completed
> Add a book to my Reading List: "The Design of Everyday Things"

Working with Tasks

Create and update tasks:
> Add a task: "Send follow-up email" due tomorrow
> Mark the "Review PR" task as complete
> Add a subtask to "Website Redesign": "Finalize color palette"
These same document skills apply to building custom agents. Your instructions become the agent’s behavior—no code needed. See Sub-Agents.

Content Operations

The agent performs these types of operations on your Craft content:
OperationExamples
SearchFind documents by title, search content, filter by date
ReadGet document contents, list blocks, retrieve collection items
CreateNew documents, blocks, collection items, tasks
UpdateModify text, change properties, update task status
DeleteRemove blocks, delete collection items, remove tasks
Delete operations permanently remove content from your Craft workspace. The agent will confirm before performing destructive actions.

Working with Document Structure

Craft documents have a hierarchical structure of blocks. The agent understands this structure and can:
  • Navigate between pages and subpages
  • Work with different block types (text, headings, lists, code blocks)
  • Understand the relationship between parent and child blocks
  • Reference specific sections within documents

Tips for Better Results

Instead of “find my notes”, try “find my notes about the product launch” or reference documents by their exact title.
After finding a document, you can say “summarize that” or “add a task to it” - the agent remembers what you were discussing.
When working with collections, name them: “add to my Expenses collection” rather than just “track this expense”.
For important changes, ask the agent to show you what it will do before executing: “show me what you’ll delete” or “preview the changes”.

Current Limitations
